Hi, my name is Adam and this year I’ll be cycling for Prostate Cancer UK. On the 23rd of June I’ll be taking part in the Grand Depart Classic, a cycling trip organised by Prostate Cancer UK. That means I’ll be cycling 200 kilometres, 125 miles, following the route of the opening stage of this year’s Tour de France. After that I’ll be taking part in the Prudential Ride London 100, cycling 100 miles around London and the Surrey Hills on closed roads.
Why am I supporting this charity?
I’m a man of a certain age and these things are beginning to worry me. One in eight men will be affected by prostate cancer throughout the course of their lives. How many male family members do you have? How many male friends do you have? One in eight of those people will at sometime be affected by prostate cancer.
Who are prostate cancer UK and why should you support them?
Their aim is to improve the care and welfare of those affected by prostate cancer, increase investment in research and raise public and political awareness of this long neglected disease. Over the past 20 years they’ve invested more than £37 million into groundbreaking research and continue to provide award-winning some support for all men.
Of course to continue this help and research the charity needs money. If you can help me support this charity that would be greatly appreciated.
You can do so by visiting my just giving page at www.adamhobden.com/prostatecancer or clicking the button above.
Any amount donated no matter how small would be greatly received.I’m funding these trips myself so that any money that I do raise will go directly to the charity.Thank you very much for your time and any support you feel you're able to give, it really is much appreciated.
